Why?

This web platform has been developed to support the @MyJQ twitter account. It is primarily intended for personal use as a virtual hyperlocal model of the Jewellery Quater in Birmingham. These data will never be complete, rather an organically evolving knowledge base capturing interaction with local information.

It aggregates news and social media information from the public domain into a semantic network based on the principle of 5Ws. This provides a methodology for categorising and linking information, so that it can be captured and retrieved in useful ways.

For anybody concerned about personal information included on the platform. All these data points have been freely shared in the online public domain by the subjects themselves. All this platform does is aggregate these data through a hyperlocal lens. If an individual in their spare time can knock together this analysis just imagine what the evil corporations are doing with your data! We all need to take personal responsibility for our own data!
