Chapter Five Sing in the JQ
Essentially this is a concert of classical music, although they approach it in a unique and lighthearted way, mixing everything from early church music to pop songs in their programmes. They are a relatively new group but, according to them, they are having a lot of success with audiences and great feedback from concert organisers, including the following from conductor John Lubbock:
“Last night I heard Chapter Five for the first time and I was very impressed with so many aspects of the art of small ensemble singing. Perfect blend yet lovely individual voices, very good tuning and togetherness and lots of phrasing and dynamic contrasts. They chose an interesting and varied programme of familiar and unfamiliar music and the whole impression was of real quality and accessibility.”
